Today 10 years ago, Madonna launched her unique and critically acclaimed:
“The Re-Invention World tour.”
The tour premiered in Los Angeles on May 24th 2004 and ended in Lisbon on September 14th 2004, after 56 shows were offered in North America and Europe.
The tour promoted her “American Life” studio album and was divided into five different segments: “French Baroque,” “Military-Army,” “Circus-Cabaret,” “Acoustic and Scottish-Tribal.”
The costumes were developed by designer Arianne Phillips.
(who also designed the costumes for her MDNA World Tour in 2012.)
If you attended the Re-invention Tour, then you will have no problem agreeing with me; that it has been one of the best shows of all time, and of course coming from the Queen of Pop herself… (Well her shows never disappoint. That’s it, That’s all.)
The show was a commercial success. Tickets were completely sold out as soon as dates and venues for the tour were announced, prompting the organizers to add more dates.
The tour was named as the highest grossing tour of 2004, earning $125 million US dollars (like, how sick is that? was she rich already? LOL).
It won the Top Tour award as part of the 2004 Billboard Touring Awards.
(She normally takes home this category… After all, this is Madonna we are talking about)
The tour was later released as a documentary titled: “I’m Going to Tell You a Secret.”
Which included the behind the scenes, rehearsals and live performances in different venues.
