That was so funny, don’t you think?
Laughter and joy brings people together anywhere, anytime.
It is hard to believe that comedy is not really recognized much at award shows.
That is why the first edition of the American Comedy Awards took place on Thursday May 8th 2014.
It was so far one of the most entertaining and funniest shows of the year.
Honoring the best in Comedy in Television and Film, the big winners of the night were:
Film winners included “This Is the End,” which was named top film and scored directing honors for Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, and “The Heat,” which took home best screenplay and earned Melissa McCarthy a best actress nod. Will Ferrell won the best actor award for his role in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.
On the TV side, both “The Daily Show” and “The Colbert Report” were named best late night talk show. Writing honors went to “Modern Family,” while “Saturday Night Live” swept the supporting actor/actress categories: Kate McKinnon and Bill Hader took home those honors.
The big highlight of the night went to the legendary comedian actor Bill Cosby, when he accepted the Johnny Carson Award, for his contribution to comedy over the past decades.
