And then… There was 2D Animation.
2D animation figures and mini-series are created and edited on the computer using 2D bitmap graphics or created and edited using 2D vector graphics.
This includes computerized versions of traditional animation techniques such as interpolated morphing, onion skinning and interpolated rotoscoping. 2D animation has many applications, including analog computer animation, Flash animation and PowerPoint animation.
A perfect example of a great 2D Animation series is the always rated “R” South Park.
As many of you already know “South Park” is only intended for adults due to the language and vulgar content that the animation itself contains.
Not to forget the huge subjects or statements the show has regarding politics, economy, pop culture, sexuality, religion and other touchy ideas that others don’t dare to talk about or share.
It is not prohibited to watch the show, (even though it only airs after midnight on MusicMuch and Comedy Central). I guess the reason why many parents out there make it sound so out of place besides; yeah, all the coarse language and graphics but also the reality of the subjects..
It really shows the viewer what is really going on with this messed up world we live in, while holding the humor and dark side of it. (Pardon My French).
To me shows like this, are more of an eye opener and a mockery of the reality “we are,” “we live,”‘ we handle” day by day.
So, to all the parents out there, please do me a favor and stop telling your 10 year old that they are not allowed to watch “South Park”, (because the truth is, eventually one day they will) and who knows.. maybe they will come up with a new smashing hit-cartoon similar to it.
Don’t forget: “The video posted above contains scenes of coarse language, nudity, violence and it is only intended for mature audiences. Viewer discretion is advised.”
